Driver Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Dankooo. By registering as a driver and using our platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s licence, PDP (Professional Driving Permit) where required, and all necessary vehicle documentation to participate as a driver.
2. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify Dankooo immediately if you suspect unauthorised access or any security breach.
3. Verification
All drivers must complete the verification process, including uploading valid ID, vehicle registration, insurance, PDP (if applicable) and other relevant documents. Dankooo reserves the right to approve or reject any application based on compliance and authenticity.
4. Conduct and Safety
- Drivers must maintain professional and respectful behaviour with passengers and other road users.
- No illegal substances, unsafe driving, or fraudulent activities are tolerated.
- Vehicles must be roadworthy, clean, and meet the minimum safety standards at all times.
5. Payments and Subscriptions
Dankooo may operate on a driver subscription and/or commission model. All active drivers are required to maintain up-to-date payments to keep their accounts active and eligible to receive rides or delivery jobs.
Failure to renew or settle outstanding fees may result in the driver’s account being marked as inactive until payment is confirmed.
All payments are processed securely through the official Dankooo platform or its designated payment partners. Payment details, renewal schedules, and related fees are visible inside the driver’s portal or communicated via verified channels.
6. Privacy
We value your privacy. Your personal information and documents are handled securely and used solely for verification, communication, and operational purposes. Refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.
7. Communication & POPIA Compliance
By registering as a driver on Dankooo, you acknowledge and consent to the following communication terms:
- Your WhatsApp number may be shared with passengers only for the purpose of coordinating a trip.
- Your number is never shared publicly and is only visible to the passenger once a trip is assigned to you.
- This information exchange is strictly operational and aligned with delivering the service.
- Passengers’ phone numbers remain protected and are not displayed to you unless they choose to contact you first.
- Dankooo will not use your number for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
- This communication flow is compliant with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), as it falls under legitimate and consented processing necessary to deliver the service.
By continuing to use the Dankooo Driver App, you acknowledge that sharing your contact details with passengers for trip coordination is necessary for completing trips safely and efficiently.
8. Suspension or Termination
Violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or failure to comply with regulations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
9. Updates to Terms
Dankooo reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
